Art Statement
I use photography to unearth the hidden histories embedded in the spaces we inhabit, the objects we use, and the cultures they shape.
Rooted in my background as an archaeologist, my artistic practice is a form of excavation. I research an area’s historical and environmental context, using my camera to reveal its layered complexities. Capturing these layers means tracing the transformations my subjects have undergone—how they’ve been shaped by human interference and altered by the passage of time. These forces are ever-present in my work, shaping both the subject and how it is seen. I want the image to become an intervention, a deliberate act of revealing history to eyes that might otherwise overlook it.
