After The Rush - Lavrio
For thousands of years, the Laurion region in Greece was shaped by mining. From ancient silver extraction to industrial operations that continued into the 1980s, the traces of this legacy remain etched into the landscape—mine shafts scattered across the hills, ruins woven into the terrain.
These photographs focus on Lavrio, the main town in the area, capturing the old miners’ quarters where many former workers still reside. Today, the hum of industry has faded, leaving behind a quieter, more uncertain reality—and a community marked by the enduring presence of its industrial past.
